Arts Administration Proposal — Utah Costume Collective
A comprehensive organizational plan integrating programming, marketing, fundraising, and strategy for a conceptual community-based arts institution.
As part of my graduate coursework in Principles of Arts Administration, I developed a full-scale proposal for the Utah Costume Collective, a conceptual arts organization designed to celebrate costume design through exhibitions, programming, and community engagement. This project required applying core principles of arts administration to build an organization from the ground up—combining creative vision with strategic planning.
I created a complete organizational framework, including a mission statement, core values, and an operational structure supported by a detailed organizational chart. From there, I developed a year-round programming model featuring exhibitions, community events, educational initiatives, and fundraising experiences—all designed to align with the organization’s mission of creativity, collaboration, and care.
A key component of this project was integrating multiple areas of arts administration into one cohesive plan. I built a full operating budget, developed a targeted marketing plan for a community event, and wrote a case for support to articulate the organization’s value to potential funders and partners. I also created a mini strategic plan outlining goals, action steps, and evaluation methods to support long-term sustainability.
Throughout this project, I focused on audience engagement, community impact, and accessibility—designing programs that serve both local residents and university communities while supporting artists and small businesses. The proposal emphasizes not only artistic programming, but also economic impact, partnership development, and organizational growth.
This deliverable strengthened my ability to think holistically about how arts organizations function—balancing mission-driven work with financial sustainability, marketing strategy, and community relevance.
This work reflects my passion for building thoughtful, community-centered arts organizations and my interest in the strategic and creative processes that bring them to life.
